Ode to My MRT Train Ride on a Sunday
Laughter
As loud as a concert chant
While others are humming with their headset on.
Beep.
The train door opens.
Giggling teens with backpacks enter and settle at the middle
An uncle napping.
While a couple lovingly stares at each other’s eyes.
Laughter
A snicker while a guy watches a video from his phone.
Hearty laughter of a group of Filipinas eager to enjoy their off day.
Different faces
Different moods
Different destinations
Yet we are all connected by the same journey.
Beep
The train door opens.
People come out while a new wave comes in.
Continuing the journey together
And the process repeats itself.
